N - FCI recognized breeds.

General Appearance:

Its character is a balanced and courageous dog, which never even shows a hint of unreasonably aggressive. It is a separate, independent, intelligent, trustworthy and proud with leadership tendencies. To its owner it behaves very affectionate and loyal. When it is kept as a pet it requires from earliest childhood gentle, consistent training and widest early socialization. It tends to behave to other dogs dominant. Adult males are distrustful of strangers, but if it is not provoked, it does not attack them.

Training/Behaviour:

Its socialization and education has to start on time, the day when puppy arrives to a new family. In no case, however, this breed does not belong in the hands of beginners. Its owner must have natural authority and some previous experience with dogs that have the same character foundation. Owner must always act with dog quite consistently. It should be borne in mind that even in adulthood to be such a dog by its physical and behavioural foundation fund always perfectly controllable in all situations. It will never reach that when the education starts late. Owner´s commands it can learn quickly, but slavish obedience we cannot expect from this breed or not required. It is confident and always retains a certain degree of independence.

It requires a lot of movement, but freely discharged should be only on the fenced property. It can be all year round in the outdoor pen, but it cannot live there all its life, it needs contact with the owner and his family members, and as frequently and as long as possible. For normal training (sports according to one of the test systems) it  does not fit, it  is a strong defender, but  it never will behave when dribbling accordance with the requirements of the owner-trainer, it  always retains its discretion in any case effectively, it is  taking full advantage of its speed, agility and physical fund.

Body:

Height at withers male is 76-81 cm and female is from 71 to 76 cm (measured in adulthood, at least 2 years of age), weight of body is between 50-70 kg males and between 41 - 54.5 kg females. Males tend to be considerably larger than females.

The head is large, but its size must match the total size of the individual must not be too heavy rough. Bitches are distinctly more finely chiselled. Skull should be slightly arched above, the earlobes wide towards the front slope (stop) is slightly narrower. Also, the muzzle from the stop towards the nose slightly tapering, when viewed from the side is still high and must be blunt ended (never sharply pointed).

The jaws are equally long and the lips should be close to the edges tinted black. Upper are especially dogs harder meatier. Teeth should be strong, white, bite required scissor or pincer. The length of the muzzle is slightly less than the length of the skull. Stop is steep, but not precipitous. Nose requires a big, black.

Eyes are medium size, rather rounded, the colour of amber to dark brown. Lushes are a black colour.

The earlobes should be hung, medium-sized, approximately triangular, rounded tops. They are set at the upper line of the skull. In alertness they are high enough and supported by leading edge adjacent to the cheek, stretched forward overlap eyes. Puppies may appear disproportionately large.

The neck is strong, muscular, of moderate length, slightly arched in the nape, with fewer dewlaps. Body has to be sturdy, muscular. Topline of body from withers towards rear slightly sloping, straight, only in short, very slightly arched loin muscled. The chest should be broad and deep, so that it reaches to the elbows. Ribs are properly sprung. The abdomen is only slightly tucked.

The forelegs are muscular, moderate angulations, long, powerful bones, stronger than the pelvis. Elbows close to the body, must not be turned in or out.

The hindquarters should have adequate strength and are well muscled, but still a little weaker than the rib. Their bones must be firm, properly bent at the knees and hocks. Both legs have to be viewed from the front, respectively the back straight. Paws are large, forefeet larger than the hind. They have either a circular or oval shape or skin between the toes duplications. The claws are blunt. They can be white, black or coloured differently. Dewclaws on the hind legs are either single or double, may also be absent and must be removed.

Croup should be fairly short, slightly sloping. The tail should be set level with topline of the body and is not reduced. At rest is carried hanging, and then reaching to the hocks. When the excitement is carried high, it is curved over the back and shoulders. Spins can be tight or loose, if it is tight, the tip may be directed to either side of the stern. The hair is longer there than elsewhere on the body.

The body coat consists of a top coat and undercoat. The top coat should be short (but not too much, it is not change into smooth coat) rather rougher, never wavy. On the neck, shoulders and tail is slightly longer than elsewhere on the body, on the head in the face and earlobes contrast, very short. For most individuals, the middle of the back of the spine elongated strip lying flat coat. The undercoat is very soft, dense, sometimes grey coloured.

Colouring the top coat is uniform, fair or light grey, dull gold to steel grey, depending on the proportion of black and grey hair in top coat and undercoat according to colour. Necessary is a black mask on the face which passes through scalp and earlobes. White marks are allowed on the feet, front chest and chin. On the legs may extend no more than halfway down the forearm, a small white patch on chest, stretching like a narrow strip on the underside of the chest it is permissible. Its chin may be only a small white spot. The tail is usually black and black spot often occurs  in the middle of the tail.
