General Appearance:

Character seems to be bit gloomy, but it should never be nervous. Regarding its temperament there are significant differences between individuals. Generally, it is very calm, quiet, the owner, who loves absolutely faithful dog. It is able to be a pleasant companion. It is also hard, sharp, single, utterly fearless, initiative and enthusiastic hunter.

Its independence is quite unlimited who does not understand its character well. This person says that is disobedient and stubborn. However, they recognize that after the performance it is a remarkable hunting dog, able to watch with great perseverance and passion right track game, in any way difficult, dense vegetated terrain.

Temperament/Behaviour:

It hates rough training and harsh methods of education and training. It is essential to welcoming owner or trainer consistency, patience and with ability to understand its behaviour. As with education, and with the training, it must start as early as possible at the puppy age, of course, quite kindly and peacefully. Therefore certainly it is not a breed for everybody.

Body:

This is a burly, typically dry muscled rough-hound hard, bristly, like tousled hair. Length of body is measured from the front edge of the shoulder to point of buttock in the pan is slightly larger than height at withers. Male is from   55 to 62 cm for female is from 53 to 60 cm (with a tolerance of + / -1 cm). The head is dry, light, but not small, slightly, but never too elongated.

Jaws should be strong. Bite is required scissors however a pincer. Incisors must be planted vertically in the jaws. Teeth should be comprehensive, but the absence of first premolars (P1) is not penalized.

It is preferred dark-coloured eyes. Their views should be lively and penetrating. Eyebrows are not obscure and conjunctiva should not be seen. The rims are fully pigmented.

The earlobes should be at the base at least 3 cm wide, set at the level of the upper rim of the eyes, hanging, soft, rather thin, moderately broad to end slightly curved inward so long that stretched forward reach to the back edge of the nose. They are sufficiently covered with hair.

The tail should be slightly higher seeded, but not too long. Be adequately coated. The rest carried slightly below the topline of the body in motion tends sickle so that its end is above the level of the croup.

Chest should be long, backwards to the last ribs expands and it should be so deep that reached as far as possible to the elbows.

The hair is long, thick and hard, bristly, shaggy. It should never be woolly or curly. Abdomen and inner thighs must not be bare.

Colouring can be dark sable or blue-gray, which is due to the fact that some of the hairs at the ends always darker than at the root.

The defects are mainly fearfulness, aggression or shyness, inappropriate type, overshot or undershot jaw, eyes, uneven colours or glass (off-white), persistent dewclaws twisted (loop-forming) tail coat colour uniformly black, orange, the colour of ripe wheat (wheat) or tricolour, white paws, extensive de-pigmentation of the nose, the edges of the eyelids or lips.
