General Appearance:

It's a nice character, calm and relatively easy to train. If necessary it can be used as a companion breed.

Training/Behaviour:

Education and training is not particularly difficult and complicated when the owner realizes that it is a hound, and if not an aggressive individual, originating from breeding exclusively focused on performance and insisting on - the toughness wildlife, especially the "varmin". Theoretically, by hunters, it is the "sharpness for varmint" and "aggression" completely different, but in fact, the breeding focused on the "sharpness" prefer individuals that appear at an early age marked symptoms of aggression.

Unless aggression is not preferred this dog is friendly and docile. It loves its owner, it is sensitive and perceptive. However, if it is not regularly used for hunting, it needs a lot of movement and a regular job. Unless there is another activity, content to retrieve series (e.g. the ball). There are needed are long walks, preferably in nature.

Body:

It's a big strong dog of medium strong and flexible body structure, rectangular body frame. Height at withers, male is from 50 to 56 cm and females is from 48 to 54 cm. The skull is broad, occipital part not too apparent, muzzle strong, nasal bridge straight, black nose.

It requires a scissor bite and strong teeth. Desirable is a complete set of teeth composed of 42 teeth. Tolerates the absence of two premolars 1 or 2 (P1 or P2) on the molars 3 (M3) is not taken into account (their absence is not a fault).

Eyes are clear, dark brown colour. Conjunctiva of the eye corners cannot be seen. The earlobes are of medium length, set high, very broad, rounded at the tops and surface to be hung along the cheeks.

The neck is of medium length and very strong, no dewlap.

The tail should be long. Towards the tip it’s slowly narrowing. It is curved slightly upward, calm down suspended. On its underside forms a rough sign of brush.
The chest is broad and deep. The forelegs are strong and straight. Shoulders should be oblique, very muscular.

The hindquarters must be properly bent, thighs long, narrow, fairly muscular, paws large and round arched, well-knit, strong nails and black-coloured, padded big and strong.

The coat is smooth, tight, dense and resilient with silky sheen. Guard hair of the outer coat is long, about 2 cm.

Colour is black with small and sharply defined tan markings, which can be light to dark shades. Above the eyes should be clear.

Faults include too narrow skull, broad muzzle, ears corkscrew curled at the ends too pointed, narrow or very short tail too short or excessively thin noticeably curled upwards, lacking a sign of the brush on the lower side, weak limbs.

To negative defects belong to over- or undershot jaw, absence of more than two teeth of category P1 or P2, any colour other than the specified standard, the absence of distinctive tan markings above the eyes.
